Job Description

Our client is building a brand new development team to look after a new and exciting global product.

The main focus of this role will be to Develop interfaces and software which provide multi-modal management capabilities for Transport Management organisations in major cities worldwide

Responsibilities:

  • Participation in requirements definition/clarification and providing feedback, showing knowledge and leadership in design, implementation and operational concerns
  • Able to demonstrate technical leadership for small to medium sized projects when working with project managers and customers
  • Promoting design governance towards software components and data models, leading formal or ad-hoc design reviews where necessary
  • Responsible for interface definition and agreement, demonstrating high levels of design awareness and system governance
  • Effectively working with external/internal clients or consultants, showing attention to management of expectations and ensuring delivery of any documented agreed outcomes
  • Development and maintenance of software components, unit tests, database and operating system scripts using the provided development tools and following the development processes
  • Ability to estimate their development tasks and consistently delivering to schedule, influencing others as necessary to meet team deadlines
  • Working constructively with other team members to provide opinions, receive feedback and generally always helping to overcome boundaries of domain knowledge or software ownership within the team through stepping outside immediate areas of responsibility
  • Highly proactive ownership of operational issues and support tickets from identification through to resolution
  • Always seeking continuous improvement of development practices to enhance overall team productivity
  • Software document primary authorship with continuous update of such during software lifecycle
  • Mentor software engineers and graduate software engineers in the team
  • Once deemed competent, perform on call support every few weeks according to a regular roster

Position Specific Skills/Experience/Knowledge:

  • Strong development experience with Microsoft Azure Services
  • Strong development experience with Azure Service Fabric
  • Strong understanding of enterprise and design patterns and principles
  • Experience developing applications using a micro-services architecture
  • Experience developing applications using an enterprise service bus, NServiceBus desirable
  • Strong front end development experience, HTML, CCS, Angular (4+) desirable
  • Experience developing applications using automated CI/CD pipelines, Jenkins, Octopus and ProGet desirable
  • Knowledge of GIS Web standards and technologies (WMS, WFS, GeoJSON, GeoSpatical etc) highly desirable
