The Senior Cyber Security Advisor consults with business and ICT service delivery leads within the agency and other agencies / vendors. The occupant of this role, in collaboration with Cyber Security team members, conducts security risk assessments and develops cyber security focussed architecture advice and solutions for business and infrastructure stakeholders and allied practices including Physical Security, HR and Scheme Integrity Branch.
This role provides a powerful value-add to the OCIO by ensuring that existing and new services not only meet business needs but are cyber risk managed based on best practice information security principles. This position also engages with other domain architects to support the secure transformation of ICT Service delivery models, including APIs, into cloud hosted environments.
The Senior Cyber Security Advisor must possess and apply a high level of knowledge and understanding of Australian Government information security principles, government business requirements, current and emerging ICT Infrastructure services and the threat landscape within which the agency delivers services.
Because this role applies knowledge and expertise to deliver practical solutions for business and system owners, the occupant of this role must also keep up to date on new and emerging technology trends to identify potential threats and opportunities.
