Job Description

Clicks are currently seeking a Linux Consultant for a great contract opportunity with a federal government department.

Key Duties

  • Support the departments Linux fleet of servers and software products that run on them this includes Satellite and JBoss.
  • Maintain the effective day to day operations of the departments Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) Server capabilities.

  • Assist with analysis, development and evaluation of server capabilities.

  • Support system monitoring requirements and thresholds as well as corrective actions.

  • Apply robust, secure and supportable solutions to identified issues and risks in conjunction with the greater infrastructure team.

  • Documentations of existing operational and new ICT services, processes and procedures to support the management of deployed systems.

  • Interact with vendors in relation to incidents, problems, solutions and ongoing support arrangements when necessary.

  • Contribute to the delivery of enterprise technical solutions for projects and BAU requirements.

  • Employ security measures to address the security and protection of data.

  • Provide information on enterprise server best practices to key stakeholders.

  • Build and sustain collaborative relationships and team capability, share knowledge of own areas of expertise, and coach others to improve the departments platforms and infrastructure management capability.

  • Comply with WHS obligations and take responsibility for own health and safety and that of others.


  • Experience working in a similar role
  • Experience with products running on Linux OS e.g. Satellite, JBoss, Ansible etc.
  • Strong client service focus
  • Ability to build and maintain productive working relationships
