Job Description

Clicks are currently seeking 2 x Network Engineers for a long term contract opportunity with a Federal Government Department. The successful candidate will use their in-depth knowledge of specific ICT Platforms to provide expert advice on the management and maintenance of those platforms. They work closely with key third party suppliers to ensure the provision of a robust infrastructure capability to the business, and liaise with architecture and shared services areas to ensure the security of the day-to-day technical operations. The Network Engineer will exercise a considerable degree of independence, with decision-making substantially dependent on their high-level judgement and consideration of wider agency implications.


  • Assist with delivery of an optimal strategic system landscape
  • Manage the design, installation and operation of the ICT system instance landscape, client and transport processes
  • Provide broad technical support for project build, test and solution deployment activities
  • Configure and manage all non-functional platform capabilities including job scheduling, output management, email, archiving, technical security, technical connectivity between software components
  • Manage the operation of backup, high availability and disaster recovery solutions for IT systems
  • Manage and execute data archiving to forecast infrastructure growth
  • Manage technical operations for ICT solutions and interfaces
  • Develop plans for backups and disaster recovery, and execute those plans when necessary
  • Perform problem management and root cause analysis
  • Lead and manage operations of a team, including overseeing work priorities and resource management
  • Develop staff capability through coaching, mentoring and succession planning
  • Prepare and review a range of technical documentation and reports
  • Resolve and/or escalate issues that adversely impact on policy, performance and/or customer service, including disaster/emergency situations
  • Monitor and manage work output and quality against established performance standards

Skills & Experience

  • Experience with Cisco Wireless networks and integration with Cisco
  • Experience with creating & updating design documentation
  • A high level of technical expertise in LAN, Metro Area Network and Internet networking
  • Experience in supporting Cisco ACI, HP core switches, HP and Cisco workgroup switches, Fortinet firewalls, and F5 load balancers
  • Experience with Checkpoint, F5 and F5 Load balancers, Cisco routers and switches, Cisco ACI fabric, Cisco Wireless LAN hardware and ISC and Bluecat DNS/DHCP services
