Client

One of Australia's main businesses, our client provides a high-level of technical support and post-sales delivery services to its end user clients - this involves design, implementation, support and resolution to complex problems relating to network, IP Telephony, security, systems, storage and wireless solutions.

Role

Client is after a Senior Network Engineer who will provide comprehensive design, solution build/ implementation, scoping and technical support to the sales/pre-sales team, assist and mentor mid to junior level engineers.

This role also encompasses a consultancy and policy components relating to the network technologies.

This role involves visits to client and prospective client sites.

Most clients are located within the local CBD. The Senior Network Engineer is expected to have a current driver's license and provide his/her own transportation.

Due to the nature of this role, there are a number of activities that may happen outside of normal working hours - e.g. cutovers on weeknights or weekends.

From time to time this role may be required to travel as part of this role. It is expected that travel be taken to maximize the working day and consequently the staff member may need to travel outside of normal working hours .

Competencies

  • Minimum of 6-8 years related technical experience with relevant vendor certifications
  • Extensive technical experience in design, installation and support of medium to large enterprise or campus networks.
  • Experience in technical pre-sales and customer implementation as a lead engineer
  • Tertiary qualifications in a computer science, information technology or related discipline
  • Related technical experience with relevant vendor certifications.
  • Extensive technical experience in design, installation and support of medium and large networking Unified Communications, systems, storage, wireless, security solutions
  • Experience in technical pre-sales and customer implementation as a lead engineer
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience of protocols such as BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, IS/IS
  • Demonstrated experience in designing/managing and troubleshooting end to end QOS across SP networks
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience of network data encryption
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience of IPV4 and IPV6

  • Expertise in fault finding (technical issues) and problem diagnosis for above solutions
